Superintendent

Education:
Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture; or Equivalent Experience

Desired Experience: (years experience, background, expertise, etc.)

• 2-4 years as assistant superintendent

• Projects up to $10 million

• Extensive field supervisory experience

• Working knowledge of all crafts (ability to read specifications for all trades)

• Foreman or journeyman in at least one trade (or project engineer)

Basic Responsibilities: (specific scope and responsibilities of position)

• Update and maintain all sets of drawings, specifications and logs

• Attend and participate in safety training meetings

• Enforce safety procedures

• Verify subcontractor certificates of insurance

• Prepare and maintain responsibility for CPM job schedule

• Develop owner and architect's confidence

• Recruit, organize, train, direct, and coordinate field construction team

• Assure quality control

• Expedite material and tools

• Prepare necessary reports

• Document and complete all punch lists in a timely manner

• Review all drawings, specifications, and subcontractor submittals

• Chair pre-job conference

• Chair regular subcontractor meetings

• Document final closeout and owner's acceptance

Desired Skills: (computer, software, licenses, certificates, etc.)

• Strong scheduling and communication skills

• Knowledge of OSHA laws

• Knowledge of job scheduling, planning, expediting, and cost control
• Problem-solving ability
